Sitting here in this “cozy” office without an air
conditioner to calm my troubled brain, my mind takes me on a roller coaster to
past events and I remember the happenings that has framed me the man I have
become.
Growing up in an environment that forced my potentials to
come out was one of the best things that ever happened to me as a man who has
grown to a level where people appreciate and see him as a role model and mentor
of a sort.
But you see, it didn't all start like “this” for me or for
anyone who is been celebrated today. The glamour, respect, honors and
appreciation often covers up the many years of suffering and pain but it
doesn't eliminates the memories of the fact that it existed.
As what people often call a “motivational speaker and
writer”, I have always been a strong fan of biographies and books that allows
me access into people’s minds and stories not to inspire me as an ardent reader
but to confirm the fact that the
principles that I live my life by works for other people and not just for
me (makes me feel less special).
These principles has over time helped me and others to set
their lives in perspective and set the pace for long lasting progress and growth as we go through this journey
called LIFE.
One of such principles is what many will tag “Leave your
comfort zone” and in this context it will mean despising ones comfort for the
greater good of creating a desirable future.
Success determines where it goes and who it follows and
trust me when I say you cant have it when you don’t badly want it enough to
leave where your comfort zone.
In the school of success, your convenience becomes your
curse when your comfort zone becomes your abiding tent rather than the battle
field for the glory you desire.
The difference between where you are and your desired
destination is your convenience. The
truth is, if you badly want it, you’ll leave your convenience which is the plague stopping you from having
it to the battle ground where you get to confront your fears head-to-head to
have your desires gained and your dreams fulfilled.
Every dream remains at the borders of your mind when your convenience
becomes more comfortable than the battle field; it will never surface reality
or taste materiality if you don’t work it.
So my advice is this, ‘Leave your convenience, “be cursed”
and bear the cost and celebrate later’.
